Emily-isms

Thought I would write down some of the funny things we notice Emily doing these days.

--The girl loves to growl. She has been doing this for a few weeks and it totally cracks us up.

--Emily is starting to imitate our sounds. We can speak in a high pitch squeal and she squeals back. We can make a low growling sound and she imitates that. We keep trying to get her to say dada or mama, but hasn't happened yet.

--She likes to look at her Precious Moments quilt that is on the back of our rocking chair. She smiles and laughs at the little girl in the quilt. (Memommy Meisel made it for her.)

--She is easy to console and easily distracted! One minute she can be crying for me to stop doing something (a diaper change, a nose wipe, etc) and the next second she has stopped crying as soon as I pick her up or stop messing with her. It is amazing how quickly she can turn off the water works.

--She really notices and appreciates both her Mama and Daddy. If I'm playing with her in the room, she will often look down the hall for her daddy. She really notices our creaky hallway wood floors and looks to see who is coming.

--She smiles with her mouth wide open!

--She loves changing into her PJs. Actually, I think she just loves being naked! Before she goes to bed, we take off her day clothes and put on the PJs, but not before we spend some time making her laugh and kissing that belly. Jeremy usually gets her to laugh out loud the most and I just like to watch them be silly.

--Emily still prefers sleeping on her belly although now I don't worry about it since she can flip back and forth so easily. She likes to sleep with her butt up in the air. The past week or so I've noticed her sleeping curled up on her side which is almost as adorable.

--She hates peas. We have to chase it with something else if we eat them at all. LOVES avocado and banana, apples, pears, peaches, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Tolerates green beans. Just introduced stage 2 combos like apple/strawberry, blueberry/apples, sweet potatoes/corn and she like all of that. We have tried rice, oatmeal and barley cereals and she seems to like barley best.
